Good morning, everyone! We have returned with another Monday, so it is time for me to brighten your day just a little bit with the nuggets of thoughts that circle around in my brain LOL. I am still on my countdown to Thanksgiving, and my taste buds are tingling. It is going to be a great day!
How many of you out there have heard the song, "A Hand to hold on to" by John Mellencamp? If you haven't heard that song, you need to look it up. It is a great song with a very powerful message. The chorus states:
"Everyone needs a hand to hold on to, don't need to be no strong hand, don't need to be no rich hand, everyone just needs a hand to hold on to."
How true those words are. I have had a good life. I have experienced things that most only dream about. I always say I have no regrets and wouldn't change anything, but that is not completely accurate. There is only one thing that I know I regret, and that is that I never had anyone to share those experiences with.
It is so easy to take the relationships in our lives for granted. Whether it be friends or romantic relationships. Which reminds me a verse from the song that says:
"And in those hours when you're alone, and there is nobody there except yourself, I know it, you wanna pick up the phone, and say talk to me, talk to me, somebody please talk to me."
That song came out in 1981-1982, but the message behind it is still so powerful today. It is so true that we all need to have someone close in our lives, friends or significant others.
So, if you have someone truly close to you, spouse, relationship partner, a family member, a dear friend, don't them for granted. If they are walking the path with you, the good and the bad, and they stay right by your side, that is something that money cannot by. If you look over and that person is always there, then you are richer than the wealthiest person in the world.
Have a great Monday everyone! Love you all and be sure to check out that song!!! It's a great one!!!
