If you're trying to watch your carb intake but still love pizza, give this a try! It is a dish you can modify to suit your personal pizza taste. Here is how I made mine! This made about 4-6 servings.

Ingredients:

Meats:

1 lb of sausage ( your choice of kind, I used Italian)

1/2 pack of Hormel Pepperoni or about 20 slices.

Veggies:

1 c sliced mushrooms

1 clove garlic

1 small shallot

1/2 c sliced black olives

Sauce/Toppings:

8 oz pizza sauce

2 c of shredded mozzarella

Start out by cooking up the sausage, garlic, and shallot in a small non-stick pan. Once its browned and ready, drop a layer the sausage into a small baking pan. Spread out the meat to completely cover the bottom of the pan. Top that with a layer of sauce, a sprinkle of black olives, then a layer of cheese followed a blanket of pepperoni. Then add more sausage mix, more sauce, cheese and pepperoni again. After you got a couple layers (or you run out of sauce) sprinkle some more black olives on top and a final layer of pepperoni.

Put in the oven on 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or until the top is your desired crispiness. Super simple and very tasty.

Again, this can be done with any ingredients for your pizza bake, you can even do a white pizza substituting alfredo sauce for the tomato-based sauce. You can do all veggies or even a seafood pizza. The only limit is your imagination.

If you try this out, let me know what you think. Also, drop some of your own creations in the comments section. I love to hear about all the varieties that can be done for this recipe.
